Thanks guys, the answer:

Hold RDS and FM just like on other Audi cars...enter the codes using the first four buttons for CD/Preset select...each press increases by one...set the code...hold down RDS and FM again until SAFE appears...release and voila! Does that sound familiar to anyone?

Also, what if the controls on the wheel don't do anything? Anybody have this problem on a B6? Is it a fuse?

I do. I like have the ability to shift without removing my hands from the wheel. Just tap it with my thumb.

Well, I will have to check it out...

But now a question...I haven't seen any 02 A4 with steering wheel radio control? Can this be added? And if so does anyone know how much?

I have tried entering code by holding RDS/FM but it doesn't work on my '03 A4. Wondering if there is different sequence to enter code on A4. I have Symphony radio/tape/cd and if I hold RDS/FM id does nothing, stil shows CODE.
I don't have any manuals !!!

OK, so far so bad !!!
You guys are lucky not living in NJ. I've read that dealers are trying to rip you ~$40 to find the code for your radio. In NJ you can't find one to find the code for you under $95. I just talked to 4 of them and 3 of them are asking $95 and fourth need radio out of the car and brought to them ??!!!???
My experience so far is very dissapointing. I should have stick with Volvo

So far I figured I have to press RDS+AS simult. to get I 0000, entered 4-digit # that I have found on tire well and pressing RDS+AS again gets me to SAFE again. I'm not sure if I have to press RDS+AS again after punching the code.
