B6 1.8TQ *Auto*+ APR Stage 1 = worth the $?
I've read quite a few threads regardingAPR chip upgrade and how it's one of the first best upgrades to have for the car. This sounds silly but is it worth it on a auto trans?Anybody drives an auto w/ chip have any success stories?

Yeah its worth it, you just gotta get the "Tip Chip.... from what I know which could be wrong its a little more expensive? But don't believe that untill its confirmed by another member.
With the chip you'll need to upgrade your "Diverter Valve" which runs you 35$ - 135$ bucks, this part goes bad when chipping your car due to increase in your PSI. No biggy, and simple to find and have someone switch out.
And there all sucess stories man, a chip offers an incredible amount of difference, you won't believe your sitting in the same car. Average gain of 30-40 horse power.

btw, i have the GIAC FX (similar to APR 1+), and it's nice, but i wouldn't say it'll blow you away. In fact, the chip alone didn't do a whole lot. I had to go 1+ to make a big difference. The tuner basically said the 'wow factor' wasn't going to be there as much for the b6 tiptronics, and he was right in my opinion.

hey can u go over 80MPH withur stage 1+with out ur tip tranny goin insane
casue i hear APR stage 1+ messes wit the tip tranny casue it is constantly searching gears
when u go over 80mph or soemthing like that

I had a little gear hunting around that speed with the stage 1.... I didnt notice it at all with stage 1+ coming back on the highway. I have only driven it for a few hours.. I will test it out tonight or tomorrow and tell you

Driving around town or on the freeway, it kicks major butt. But off the line, i'm still almost as slow. So that's why i gave a 'medium' review.
