my ultimate goal with my car is to make it an sti killer

350 hp should account for the weight differrence, and with some extensive suspension upgrades, i think i would be worthy of that title...

however, i think that working 1day a week earning $7.10 an hr might not be enough money for me... lolz

but its a goal, and gosh darnet, imma do it!!!!

or just buy an sti when i get older...

Remember that an STi is a 2.5L vs 2.0L wrx.... also know that as soon as you reach 300 hp( @ the crank) in a WRX you will have extensive problems with the tranny.. its just that , very weak. unlike the STi's tranny which will take a beating and keep on ticking.. not to mention the fact that from the factory the STi comes with brembos, DCCD(Driver Controlled Center Diff.) ofcourse upgraded engine and internals so you dont have to mess with the WRX and spend money to surpass the STi... besides it's nicer to ahve a 6sp. vs. 5sp.. ..
A couple of things to think about ... save your money and get the better model

WRX 300 is a 2.0 in the UK, and that has 300 bhp. They must use a different transmission

Edited to say, we don;t have the 2.5 over there, just different versions of the 2.0 turbo.

True TOFF_the_Toffee, the only region to get the 2.5L in the STi is here in the U.S.

A wrx is not about top speed though. Top speed of the elise when it first came out was 125mph, even though it did 60 in about 5.5 secs. Top speed is for bragging to your mates with down the pub. Rarely do you need it. Low end acceleration is needed more. 30-70, and 0-60.

Toff.......you have mastered the art of talking as your friends do in Clockwork Orange, and I'm quite impressed as that's one of my most favorite movies.

And not like it needs to be repeated, but I own a 2.8Q and don't even try to race the WRX ( *remembers that one time*) because it's no race for him.

The standard WRX will mince you in all performance categories I believe.
A stock STi will edge out the stock RS4 until you reach the higher speeds, especially on a tight, technical track.

My 2005 STi will destroy the new 2006 RS4 but it's modded a little.

Handling goes to the Subaru's in both instances.

PS:
You are comparing a luxury sport sedan to a performance orientated vehicle.
And with the STi you have a pure performance car disguised as a daily driver.
