I swear my car must hate me...

My remote stopped working when I went to lunch. I unlocked it with the key and went on my way. Ran a couple errands turned the car off and on a couple times and then it started working again. WTF!!?!?!?

the B5 remotes are funny some have no distance at all I know with mine I can noy use it unless I am about 2 feet from the car

 

you guys both try changing the batteries?

 

Yea I have changed batteries a few times and no difference we have even replaced remotes on customers cars and still no luck

It's same for me, I use my two remotes and sometime one have more succes . I always change battery on both and stell same.

 

I'm afraid to change the battery cause I don't have another key to reprogram the remote with. I was also wondering if your door locks slowly pop up. I noticed on some VW's they are slow like mine and others are really fast. I don't know any other Audi owners, so I have nothing to compare em' too.

You have only one key? no valet key

 

My door locks slowly pop up to . Ckeck if your door control work fine with Vag Com . I'm changed battery on my remote and I'm lucky , never need to reprogram it. If you remove battery and wait before reinstall new one...... you need to reprogram.

Mine go up slowly. No error codes on vag-com so I assume it is normal operation.
