you guys do realize that they milked the b5 for as long as possible and then they (like every other company) changed designs every few years? Is that really so hard to believe?

 

I got the story from the audi german engineer himself (didn't know much english though)
the only reason they continued to use the B5 platform was because of budget cuts and limited development money. Changing the 1.8T engine several times and keeping the B5 platform saved audihundreds of MILLIONSof dollars.

 

so like i said, they milked it for aslong as possible, but not by choice.
