I saw a review of AWD vehicle from diff. companies and audi quattro won it. It was on a wet race track. IT beat, jaguars, BMW and Merc. Benz i dont remeber if subaru was in it.

Tom Ritt, has probably pulled it apart, re built it or made it from scratch with a butter knife and soup caqn & more than likely has it posted with pics here somewhere. Not bad for a 20 year old. Tom's you man for this

I'm more curious to know how the power is distributed amongst the axles. Is it 50/50, or do the front wheels only work when they need to?

Tom has posted about a good friend of his that drives a WRX and helps him with his car. If you read enough of his posts you will see mulitple pictures of his A4 and his friends WRX parked next to each other, racing, and in mutliple pieces. The front to rear power distribution for the A4 and I thik the WRX are in a thread on this forum somewhere. I remember reading it but don't remember when....before or after I registered. I think the power distribution is similar between the two cars. Mechanically, I think both cars have mechanical transfer cases that distribute the power to front and rear wheels.

It depends on what Subaru you are talking about. They have about 3 different AWD systems I believe.

I hate Subaru's AWD system my mom has Subi and everytime I take the car out when the AWD kicks in I feel it pull it hard to either side. With the Audi it's always on so you forget about it

Tom is our Audiforums Macgyver. Give him a string, a pocket knife, and a an AUdi and the possibilities are endless.
