RE: average timing belt cost?
Damn... So I'm looking at here 1000 total... A lot of money that I don't have... But I think I'm goin to wait till next summer... Hopefully it won't poof on me...
My car is at almost 77k... Should I be really worried?
Oh and can someone point me to a timing belt kit?
And where could I get that coolant?
Could maybe autozone have it?
And if not what could be an alternative to that?
I appriciate all the help

RE: average timing belt cost?
ecstuning.com has everything you need for $270 and you should be able to get labor from a small shop for about $500-600.
as for worried, some have snapped in in the low 60k range and some have gone 100k+ with no ill effects. Its really like russian roulet. If you keep an eye on it checking it weekly for wear youmaybe ok for a short time longer. Just remeber, its ~$1k fora change, almost $4k for a new head and rebuilt engine w/ labor.
