Average Mileage Life for A4
I am planning on buying an Audi A4 with 85,000 miles on it and its a 01
i dont have 16,000 to spend on something eith 40,000 so my question is, will the car last atleast another 2 years, and possibly go into the 200,000's without having problems
like what is the average life expected onthese cars

The car should def last you another 2 years, just make sure you change all the maintenance things, oil every 3000 miles ect..Also see at what mileage the timing belt, water pump, thermostats and all that were changed at...Their pretty strong cars so it all depends on how well you maintain them =)...

because i am a highschool student, and i just sold a bmw 3 series cause of the high insurance and maintenence costs
is an audi a4 easier to maintain th an a bmw?

Buy a Bentley manual and do the maintenance yourself. There's not much on mine I won't, or haven't done. You save a ton of monay in labor and you know the job has been done right. No used oil put back in after an oil change. No original tensioner put back in after a timing belt/water pump change. Never owned a Bimmer, so can't help you there.I was driving a Mercury Villager station wagon, side paneling and all at your age. Didn't get my first Audi until I was 27.

If you can't afford the upkeep on a BMW, then you probably can't affort the upkeep on an Audi.
Unless you do repairs yourself, maintenance costs are high compared to a honda or toyota.
I doubt the timing belt was done, so you are looking at about 300 in parts plus about 4-500 for labor right off the bat.
Plan accordingly.
