Avants

RE: Avants
I've always been a wagon/SUV guy (Volvo wagon, Honda wagon, Subaru wagon, Landcruiser FJ60, Jeep Wagoneer). I moved from Michigan in my 1990 Wagoneer, but when that took a crap I started looking at Wagons. After perusing Volvos, Subarus, Hondas, Toyotas, I decided on the Avant. Got a good price, all the bells and whistles, and she drives like a dream. I was in a local parking lot and this guy pulls in with a 200X Subaru Outback, all rattling and vibrating. Made me that much more sure of my decision. He probably paid twice what I did. Long story short, I fit most of the crap that I moved in my Wagoneer into the Avant. If you need space, sporty performance, and all the luxury you could ask for, get the Avant. Just don't let anybody call it a wagon.

Yeah, it's too bad the Americans ruined the appeal of the wagons with the monstrosities they produced in the 80s. All Europeans wagons are wicked - I have just as much respect for them as the sedans. And there's nothing mroe humiliating than getting killed by a wagon sleeper.

RE: Avants
I have a B5 avant, its sweet but don't think it'll give you that much space over the sedan. The V6 is a great engine but this forum has given an itch for a 1.8t sedan. I'm a bass player so i was down with the wagon to throw my gear into. When i pack it with people there is really not enough room for the rear passengers legs. My friends 2 door Subaru has more leg room in the back. The spacial wagon part is kind of an illusion but i think it looks great and drives even better. Get the S4 b5 avant... can't go wrong.

There is no illusion to the amount of space offered in the Avant when compared to a sedan. Leg room is still rough in the back seat, but this is after all an A4. I dont think anyone expects A8-esque space when they buy an A4. This was merely a comparison between sedan and Avant. No illusion bro, just fact, there is more space in the Avant.
