Filling the tranny fluid on an Audi is a HUGE PAIN!!! You have to have the transmission at a certain temp and have to use the right oil or you are screwed. Search around on here and it will tell you how to do it. Good Luck!

Can't u fill from the dip stick? I think best for you to go to Audi dealer and buy some oil then fill it. I dont know how many quarts it takes tho.

i wouldnt try this unless you know what your doing and have a few tools.
1) the car must be level when doing this, so you cant just jack the front up...
2) the transmission must be at a certain temperature to prevent under/over filling. VAG will help you with this
3) its gravity filled which can be tricky.
good luck, seems like you may have a pissed off little birthday girl.

You may want to invest in a large, colorful assortment of flowers and a bottle of very good wine at this point. And be sure to point out that you were trying REALLY HARD to do something nice for her birthday, and now you feel REALLY BAD because you effed up.

+1 to ^..... if someone was working on my car without telling me i might be a little mad, especially if they accidentally drain my trans. how exactly did you come to decide to drain the transmission instead of the oil anyway???

whew....alright. problem was solved
I don't know how i thought the tranny drain plug was for the oil...i had just woken up and jacked the car up, looked under and said "aight there it is" got the hex bit and drained it. looked at it and i was like wtf thats hella black. then i remembered, wasn't the sway bar supposed to be blockin the pan? then i dropped the splash guard and i was like omfg ::smack::
luckily my gf's cousin works at a shop and had a vag-com and some trans fluid. he came over, helped me out with the trans fluid (yay) and all is well.
now i'm just waiting for the sealant to set on the oil pan gasket.
trust me, you don't know how stupid i felt when i did it >.>
