Ok All you audiheads.....convert me. Im a long time Subrau owner living in Alaska. Im now looking for a A4 avant quattro for the family. We are still paying $4.80 per gallon and figure the audi is way more economical. I love the design and know the awd is good, but I am looking for more info on the trany. Im looking for a 5 speed manual but is the tiptronic as good? Also what about towing as I will need to tow a light trailer around. I'm searching through the forums and just thought I'd ask. I found a 2001 A4 1.8T Avant with 71,000 miles on it for $8.600, Is that a fair price? Sounds like the timing belt will be the issue. Thank for any advice on this.
