Alright, so today i got in my B6 A4 1.8T Q and was about to head home. When i turned on the car, my screen went all red and i wasnt able to turn it on/off and no functions worked but everything was lit up. When i turn off the car, the whole sound system unit stays lit up. I attempted this several times to try and reboot the system but it failed. I was going to take out the fuse and and try and reboot it that way but i was wondering if there might be something else wrong with it.

 

that would be my sugestion, take out the fuse.

 

or you can try disconnecting the battery wait a few minutes and re connect the battery see if that works hope you have the safe code good luck

 

Thanks, yea i took out the fuse, put it back in and it re-booted but unfortunatly i found out i lost my safe code... called up Audi and got it... thanks

 

so easy to punch in. the first time i changed my battery i had no clue about the code, luckily i had it. but i didn't know what to do with it. this was way before i was on any sort of forum like this one. i called audiMV. he said oh it's wayyy too complicated, it would take me 10 min to explain to you, when i could do it in 30 seconds. he told me to just come in and he'd do it. when i saw how easy it was. he got an earful ;]

 

It's ironic too i schedualed to get my new system installed like 10 miuntes before it happened
