RE: audi a4 reliability
when said 100000 miles i didnt mean that figure exactly. domestics tend to die sooner than Japanese, but i havent really done a lot of research into the euro world because i have a 00 civic. i want an all wheel drive car thats reasonably priced and looks sharp. the audi has the qualities about it. i know that a car last as long as it is taken care of, but some makes just die sooner than others. thanks for allthe advice though. i think im gonna go with the 1.8t though cuz i want to mod. thanx

115 k miles on my 2003 A4 1.8T Q. It's in better shape than any Jap or US car that I ever owned. Last car was a '98 A6 2.8 Q. Traded it in on my new A4 when it had 160k miles. And yes, I rack up tons of miles.

RE: audi a4 reliability
hey guys I'm also looking to buy a 98 or 99 A4 2.8 Q, but i can't decide if i want 5 speed or auto. I'll be using this car for work and I'll be driving clients around so I'm leaning toward the auto. the thing I'm not sure of is the tiptronic system. whats it like? is the auto in the 2.8 sluggish or is it pretty much the same? is this auto reliable or problematic? and the most important question, is the tiptronic fun to drive?
