Audi a4 break edal stuck
Hi can anyone advise on what the problem to my Audi a4 2.0l petrol 2001 67k is?
After some local driving I parked up and found that the brake pedal will not sponge back after being pressed and also that the rear brake lights are on even with the key removed, can't drive as brakes are on solid. This has left the car with a dead battery.
Has this happened to anyone else or does anyone know what the fault is?
Any information is greatly appreciated
Thanks in advance

Well, if they are locked up and the pedal isn't returning, you might want to try opening the bleed valves. It's going to let a hell of a lot of air into the system if the pedal comes back up, but you can bleed it out after that. If that doesn't work, it could be your master cylinder.

master cylinder would be my first guess as well. but try what cyber suggested, that should at the very least release the brakes. make sure the parking brake is set and the wheels that are on the ground are chocked before doing that!

Thanks for info guys, Iwill let air into the sytem to allow for car to be moved to garage. If I loosen one bleed vale off 1 wheel is that enough or do I need to do it for more than one wheel?
Thanks for info once again

RE: Audi a4 break edal stuck
I have tried to pull the pedal manualy without any joy. the pedal does travel slightly but is pretty much to the floor. Clutch is also fine.
I have had RA* come out and have a look he said that he thought its the master cylinder, but after ringing someone who used to work for Audi he said that its was the abs unit. Also tried the usuall pumping the pedal etc no joy. Ra* guy said he can't do anything I would need to order a flatbed to come and take the car away (at my expense as this is a specialist job) to garage of choice, although he was saying Audi dealer.
Any help on the matter is greatly appreciated
Thanks in advance
