ATP GT2X VS GT28RS TURBO SETUP
I recently spoke with ATP's tech staff, and asked if the APR chip would work with the GT2x turbo. They said they had no clue, and they recommended that since Turbotec is still fine tuning all of the information, that all buyers should wait till the information is finalized.
This should be the "k04 killer", but we'll see....let me know if anyone else has heard anything about the GT2x

RE: ABT GT2X TURBO SETUP
People are afraid to be the guinea pig for it without reliable software; most people on the zine think it's too risky for K04-type power numbers. It's the set-up I want, though. Next summer when software is sorted out and I have cash, I want to do this or the GTRS eliminator.

RE: ABT GT2X TURBO SETUP
Well i would run 12s with and still be able to autox it. The spool time would be alot less then gt28rs. I think atp thinks the gt2x has more potential(for a daily/something that they could sell alot of.) thats why there putting more time into it.

RE: ABT GT2X TURBO SETUP
Or cause its cheaper... I beleive it says something about how the RS spools almost as fast, because its ball bearing... ball bearing will obviously spool a lot faster than thrust bearing... so if its a bigger turbo, they will probably build boost at a similar rate.
EDIT: I just checked the site, and it looks like the GT2X does build boost quite a bit faster... the GTRS doesnt catch up until 4K rpm, where it would start to reel in the GT2X fairly quickly...
However, looking at the dyno sheets, the GT2X actually suits my driving style a bit more, I just REALLY would prefer a ball bearing turbo. The GTRS would have me revving way past 6K rpm to reap its benefits, since it only started building lots of boost at 4500 rpm. I never rev past 6K in my car... so a turbo that runs out of steam before then makes sense for me.
Is there a ball bearing turbo smaller than the GTRS, for our cars?
