Just fishing for some input... Power to dollar is the K04 upgrade worth the money vs. the APR Stage 1+ with the larger injectors? Also if anyone has any negatives to add I'd appreciate it. Thanks!

 

This is all you have to see. All the car dynos done on the same machine and every stage was on my car.

Purple lines = stage 1+
Red lines = stage 1+ plus intercooler
Blue lines = K04

dotted lines = HP
solid lines = toqrue

Realize that going stage 1+ to 1+ with intercooler gives you a lot of gain at the lower RPM. Going to K04 gives you the same gain but now gives you sustained power all the way to redline. You also have to consider the fact that if you do go K04 you really need have an intercooler and exhaust for proper operation but which are not absolutely required with stage 1+

So don't focus on the peak numbers on the graphs... look and compare the area under the lines.

Blue is very nice. IMO if your going to do it..... do it and go K04 or BT.

 

Going right to a K04/BT would be the most economical path if you look at it in terms of sheer money.

But I do think upgrading in stages makes you appreciate the gains along each step vs. being slammed going from stage 1 to K04 and wishing you went with a BT to begin with when you get used to the power.

 

im a huge fan of the ko4, I love the low end tq, the big turbo is nice but there is alot of lag, not a bad thing im just not use to it.. but i really loved how the ko4 threw you in the back of the seat it was nice.. go with the ko4.. that would be my two cents

 

Go with a K04 first, then any little mods you do after that will make a much bigger difference than they would have with a K03.

 

yea k04 for sure

 

the K04 isnt really a big turbo
but if u have the money go with anther turbo besides the K04
if not i think the Stage 1+ is good enough
and the K04 doesnt have that much lag
