APR and 710N installed today
Well I have finally done it. I went to a local shop (great shop, great guys BTW, www.streetwerke.com ) today and had my car chipped.
I had the nuespeed in mind but I ended up buying the APR 91 octane program and also had them install a 710N DV. I was going to dyno the car but I couldn't... Will do this week and post results.
But I was able to have some 0-60 GTECH runs...
- My car is a 2002 1.8T CVT
- 2 people in the car.
- A/C off
- 75deg F outside
RUN1) was stock, in CVT mode with the above conditions, 0-60 in 8.4 secs
RUN2) was after APR and the DV in CVT mode, same conditions as above, 0-60 in 8.1secs
RUN3) was after APR and the DV in semi automatic mode shifting at 6300rpm , same conditions as above, 0-60 in 8.6secs
At some point I will try to take of in manuel mode and put it into CVT mode after I finish the first gear.
I assume I could take one or two tenths of a second off if I leave the 160lb passenger out.
So looks like I had 0.3 secs improvement on stock setup. As for the buttdyno the car definately feels faster I feel a nice constant pull between 3-5K but I can't say it is day and night. But it worths the money.
My ECU code was not listed on APR website so the guy had to get it from a dealerlist or something like that ( my ecu had a G at the end). I am wondering if I have a detuned CVT version.
Does these numbers make sense. Any inputs...
Thanks
Serkan

RE: APR and 710N installed today
Thanks audiboy,
I would probably take those numbers relatively. GTECH is not the most accurate way of doing this. And especially the way I ran was not the best way either. I kind of stayed on the side of the road when ready took off and moved to my lane.
Do you think 0.3secs improvement is right? Stock 0-60 is given at 7.2 for a CVT.

hmm maybe I am not getting it. What do you mean by rowing skills....
With the CVT on automatic mode there is really nothing the driver can do ( at least thats what I think ) push all the way down enjoy [
Can the wet clutch in my tranny be dying?
Should I check for leaks in the turbo system? Where do I need to check? Will get a boost gauge asap.
I will call APR to check if my program is any different than the others.

Yes I am positive the car is faster but the times are not close to what they should be.... If I had a manual I would say I suck at shifting but with the CVT I don't think I can effect the time that much.
I heard back from APR and they are saying the CVT 91octane program is the same with all the others...
Hmm I have to check make sure I don't have a problem with the tranny...
