Last time I checked a chipped a4 runs high 15s. Any v6 stang, the "crap" your talking about, with a 3.9 or 4.0 v6 will run a 15.7 stock. So Im not suprised it was inconsistant. A vert adds wieght lots of it. drive a v6 coupe and then a v6 vert and youll see the difference. Granted if it was a 3.8 stang then fine you should smoke him easily. But dont underestimate a3.9 or 4.0, cause youll need more then a chip, dv, and filter to "smoke" one.

the new 4.0 stangs are putting almost as much power to the road as a 5.0 fox bodie...and they run low 15s high 14s stock. Not so gay in my mind...

trust me drive a v6 coupe and youll be very impressed.

 

i dont think so ...specially since i owned a 99gt(factory freak) and two fox bodies of my own..........they are a discrace to the mustang name.

 

congrats I have owned a 87gt fox bodie my self and worked for ford myself. The new stang 4.0 ALMOST feels as strong as a stock fox bodie gt. Its not the 3.8 of your 99's bodystyle. Its a completely different motor. In fact what you buy in a v6 explorer is the same german built 4.0 in the v6 stang...now thats irony for you.

 

not a big mustang fan..but 'tis true that the NEW V6 stangs are almost as fast as the late 90's model GTs

still rather have the Audi

 

it might be as fast as a 96-97-98 but no way it was close to as fast as my 99gt

 

no late 80's pre maf stangs or 94 new emissions gt with 215hp is what Im saying. a late 90's gt would spank a v6 they run like mid-low 14s stock.

Granted my 87gt would walk a new v6, a 94 new emissions gt would have a tough time beating a 05+ v6.

They arent a disgrace to the muscle car, they dont sound like one and are marketed to a different market. The v6 is by no means advertised as such either.

but its still not a disgrace...it would be if ford advertised it as muscle. The worst thing that I hate with a passion is modded v6 stangs with dual exhaust, and other mods. Hell Ive even seen v6s that were identical to a v8 in looks but you can hear the v6 is different the a v8. My brother in laws GF's dad mods his daughters v6 stang and he did chip, CAI, full dual exhaust and he said to me it almost feels like a v8. Well dam for all that money you could have ahd a friggen v8!!! Thats what I hate the most...
