First post here and even though i find the forums very informative, i havint been able to figure out my problem and neither has 3 other mechanics.
I was getting misfire codes so I took it to a local guy here who replaced 2 coil packs. Afew hundred miles later and I was getting i was getting the same problem. Another coil pack went bad along with a vacuum line under the intake. Another check engine light. This time with a "bank 1 lean" code. I took it to a friend whos specialty is European autos. He had it for 4 days, smoke tested, fuel pressure tested, and still couldnt figure out the problem.
Now im forced to take the car back to audi so "qualified" technicians can diagnose my problem. Obviously there was a recall on the coil packs which was all replaced at no charge. The dealership called and said they found broken hose clamps which they will replace and also im going to need a new thermostat which isnt going to fix the problem but is time to do??? I am at my wits end. I cant pass inspection with a check engine light. Any ideas?
