ince when do you have to take off the fucccing clutch fan to take the altinator out.. what the hell is that.. my ******* altinator died on the way home, my dad a bright idea for getting off the bottom bolt that let me to have to take off the front bumper and all the other parts so i could cut this alan socket off that my dad atched to a ratheting rench closed end of course so when he backed it up it got stuck against the fan.. which needs to be taken off to get the bolt out aparently... my 99 didnt need the clutch fan off. am i fuckking missing something.. and how dose the fan come off..

ha... lol.. i wish i had some.. dude im going crazy i started this little project at 530 when my light came on for the battery, im not getting a charge.. i know a guy who can rebuild it nad he said if i have it for him by 10am he will have it to me b4 the end of the day.. did the one on my 99 in 1.5 hours start to finish.. i just got home and the thing is still in the car.. they changed the orientation of the altinator just enough so you cant get the bottom bolt out.. the clutch fan has to come off, no other way, looks like I need some special flat wrench, there is an allen bolt that goes through the pully or rollor that ataches to the fan..

Sounds more like a timing belt DIY, I didnt imagine it would be this difficult.. Maybe its not, and there is a quicker way?

Hey just be happy you don't have to remove the entire front end just to get to it as in the 30V's. I thought the alt was on the upper right (facing the car) on the 1.8T, when did they change it?

ok im in a bad mood, ill go buy the fuuucking tool from audi.. which they will probibly have to special fuckking order so i wont have a dam car for a while, and wont get the altinator to the shop in time.. man i hate this fuckking car.. i dont think im keeping it.. should have bought that subaru.. every time i turn around something breaks.. fuckk this thing
