8 grand?? was that not a typo?? lol, you can get another audi for 8 grand... a RAPING of a price for a TB is $1000. You should be able to drop off/pick up/warranty for about $800

 

i just replaced my timing belt at the dealer for $700. The water pump was external so it didnt need to be replaced. $8000 is way too much

 

You could replace the entire engine for well under $8000. That's insanity.

 

I'm actually getting my timing belt changed right now as I type. Getting TB, water pump, oil change, rotate and balance of tires for a little under $1100

 

bluegrasser, 8000 is outrageous.....I see you are in NC, if you need, i have a guy that knows these cars like clockwork and just did a timing belt for one of my Audis for $640 with warranty in greensboro....if you want i can give you has #, it would be worth your hour drive up here

ok...maybe I should have listened a little closer...I am going to call back and confirm the price. I guess I was expecting the worse and that is what I heard. I can swing $800 so I should be in good shape.
