Air Filter change...
I just bought a K&N air filter, but (i'm a car newbie) I don't know where to put it lol.
Could somebody describe to me where the existing filter is located and what i have to do to replace it?
Thanks ahead of time.
I have a 2004 A4 1.8T

RE: Air Filter change...
Hey Canes6. Welcome to the forum. As for your K&N, looking under the hood, the airbox is on the passenger side with a black plastic cover over it. The plastic cover just snaps off and then there are three clips around the side of the box that allow it to separate when released. It's not the easiest thing to do the first time, you kind of have to coax the old filter out, it's thicker than the K&N. Not sure that reads well enough to help you out, but hope it helps.

RE: Air Filter change...
Welcome Canes6, I hapen to be a newbie myself, but this is one thing that i have already done. The airbox is located on the passenger side, but when i asked the same question, everyone told me there are clips on the airbox (big black thingy sitting right behind your front right headlight), but i had about three or four screws which have to be taken out. Just start with the air ducting, and move your way down into the airbox. Might have to take out some parts, but in the end you'll get it in. Might take a little convincing on your part, but it pays off in the end. I had to actually rip out the old filter because of lack of room. Good Luck!!
