Screw it... I had the box mod, and most recently a cone intake. I swithced back to the stock intake/airbox because I felt loss of power and the noise became obnoxious.

and you noticed a decrease in performance?
i have noticed nothing but inprovments with what i got
i dunno

RE: air box mod vs. cone intake
While the rpm's seemed to be more free, accelertation seemed less "punchy" and the car just didnt seem to pull the same when i wanted it to. This is even after i made an effective heat shield like the AZ one (for free!) I was still dissapointed so I just went back to stock and imediately noticed an improvement. So I dunno either.

I know!
you need a bigger turbothat will demand more air than the factory intake will support......

maybe it is the difference between the auto and manual
go figure

hmm, you can see from my video that acceleration seems fine and the car pulls all the way through the rpm's....... i actually have to baby it if i don't wanna get to 40 or 50 too fast, my turbo spools very freely and fast
maybe it is the difference between the auto and manual
go figure

RE: air box mod vs. cone intake
so far I really like and enjoy the sound of the cone... but its creating alot of problems for me. I notice that I have to give er more gas when climbing hills around here (I live in the mountains) and that I'm still having problems with my CEL and running to lean. I might try to put the stock back in this weekend

RE: air box mod vs. cone intake
Your maf might be shot. Or you might have over oiled the filter (if you did that) which can cause the maf to get fouled up. Try cleaning your maf. BTW, I know exactly what you mean about needing to give it more gas to sustain speed/accelerate up to speed than compared to if you had the stock box. I say clean your maf and go back to the stock airbox.

RE: air box mod vs. cone intake
I really like the sound and all...I just don't want to mess up my car/engine just for the sound though if you know what I mean... So by cleaning the MAF you mean maybe just shoot some electronics air cleaner in there? I was thinking about 'testing' it and putting back on my stock air box, then see if the CEL goes away, and if thast the case then maybe try to reinstall the intake...
As for oiling goes... i didn't put any oil on there, but maybe I could try washing it all clean, then let it dry and put it back in.
Kind of a side quesiton...but that secondary breather tube...where does that go? Is that connected to my turbo? cause maybe I have a leak or something in that tube...maybe i'll raise the car up and try to check it out
