Aftermarket HU- No Rear Speakers(HELP)
I installed a Kenwood KDC-x979 in my 2004 A4 and I can't get the rear speakers working. I searched the archives to try and find a picture of RCA adapters that you can make to get the signal to the rear amp to power the speakers but I can't seem to get it to work correctly.
Has anyone built these successfully and if so can you post a picture? Also do I need to hook a wire up that will turn the stock amplifier on?
It had a symphony II without Bose in it before. Any help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks

No the fronts run off of the headunit. The rears run off of a common ground. When I built the RCA adapters I sodered the collar wires together and then to a wire that I plugged into the common ground.

Yeah, that was what I was thinking, you're right on there. I'll bet there is a turn on in the factory harness somewhere. Were the any wires in the factory amp harness that were unaccounted for?

Well--
I have power now. I can hear the rear speakers kind of thud when I hook up the RCA adapters, I still don't have any music but this could be beuase I have hooked up the two ground wires incorrectly when I cut the harness. I'll try reversing them tomorrow. Thanks for the help.
