Default After Resetting Service Light

Is it normal for the service status to display only dashes after resetting it? It has been about three days and I've put about 100 milea on the car and when I hit the service button, it only display three dashes next to miles and days until service.

When I reset mine the mileage went up to 10,000 miles. Are you sure you didn't somehow deactivate it completely?

I don't think so....I followed the instructions on resetting it. I held the service button down as I turned the ignition to on, then held the '0,0' button until "service" disapeared. Is there something I missed?

Anybody have any ideas what could be causing this? I've tried resetting it a second time and it still does the same thing....I can't seem to figure out what it causing this. I'm lost at this point.

I noticed this too. Give it about 100 miles and you will see it start counting down.

Well, so far I have driven about 150 miles and it hasn't changed.....but I guess I will wait a little longer (maybe to 200 miles) and then see if there is something wrong with it.

There's nothing wrong with the cluster, everyone ive ever set manually (with the buttons on the cluster) have always showed lines for a period of time. I don't know how long however but its nothing to worry about. Its probably set to go off at 10k intervals if its above an 04.

Ok cool, that's good to know. I'm glad I'm not the only one that has seen this. It just threw me off because I used to work at an oil change place and whenever I reset an Audi it always said 10k miles.

Thanks
