Advice on this higher mileage car
I'm in the market for an A4, 1.8 or 2.8 but I don't want payments. I have 7k to spend and ran across this car on Autotrader:

Should I consider it? It has 130k on it. I'd put about 15k miles on it per year. I can do the majority of maintenance myself and don't mind spending 1k a year to do so, just don't want to buy a money pit. If I bought it, I'd only do exhaust, intake and maybe a chip.

RE: Advice on this higher mileage car
He said that he'd consider offers so I plan to talk him down a little. He has the title in hand, and I'll have the full amount in cash so I think I could work out a decent deal. I asked him about maintenance. He said the timing belt was done around 60k, and then again around 110k. Said that he did a tune-up, plugs/wires, flushed the coolant and replaced a wheel bearing. The timing belt story seems a little iffy though, does that seem too far ahead of time?

RE: Advice on this higher mileage car
Sorry I should have clarified on the TB issue. He said that his father (previous owner) had the TB changed "under warranty" just prior to his 60k warranty expiration, and then he "thought" it was changed again at 110k. Just seemed odd that it would be changed under warranty first of all, and then be changed 50k after. That's all.
A few of you have been hinting on the price though, and you're right, it's too high. I think I'd be able to talk him down maybe $500 but not much more, so I think I'll pass on this one and keep looking.
