Well i just had my 60k service done and they found a ton of stuff wrong.

front lower driver side control arm
brake resevoir needs to be replaced
rear rotors and pads need to be replaced
cam chain is over-rotating and i need a new cam chain kit
valve cover gasket is leaking oil and needs to be replaced.


ugh damn car.
However, i am happy that my 8 panel ceramic clutch kit and lightweight flywheel will be installed in the next couple weeks. I am atleast somewhat happy.

You can do these, no need to pay dealer to do that. See.. you save lots of money already

Just spend a day to do it. That's all. it's fun, trust me

 

you should be able to do the valve cover gasket and brakes on your own...the cam chain sounds like it'll be a job but doable, look into that

I've got 122,000 miles on my original rotors, front and back, cut once.

Are the valve covers leaking? You should be able to see.

I think someones trying to rip you off.

 

you need new rotors, I garuantee they are out of spec in thinkness. There is a chain on the back of the motor on the cams.

 

Yeah, I know, new rotors is on the "short list". But are you saying that Audi rotors shouldn't be cut at all? I haven't measured them nor have I looked up the spec for minimum thickness. The Audi dealer cut them.

Never new about the "chain" but never heard it discussed before on the forum. Learn something new every day.

I have only recently become interested in modding and / or working on this car other than changing the oil.

Yup, this Friday at Renn Art. TB, DV, REVO & new plugs. I'll do the brakes and rotors myself when the weather gets warmer. Don't have a garage.

I figure that I better start with the things that will hurt me the most if I don't (Timing belt). Last time that alone cost me $1200+ to do at 60k miles. Having Renn Art do it, I'll use the "extra" for the "Extras".
