Help. I recently purchased a 2010 A4. 2.0T with the standard Halogen light assembly. I got a HID conversion kit for both the low beam and high beam lights and know where I can install the ballasts however in looking at the lamp assembly it seems like it is going to be a bit difficult to place the new bulbs in and have the wires needed hanging out from the dust covers without compromising the covers themselves. Has anyone done anything yet to get this to work without compromising the factory dust covers or how even by making a minor modification to the assembly? I know that I could go out and buy a whole new (factory type) lamp assembly that has the built in HID kit but at the $1k (US) price I question my self for the value. (is it worth the $1K)

Default vvme

I have the vvme kit and it is affordable and works quite well. I was one of the un-lucky one that had ballast that both burnt out in a year and a 1/2. But as long as u have the projector headlights u can convert quite easily. THe lower kelvin ratings provide more lumens with more of a bright white appearance. Ive bought 8000,10000&14000K. the 14000k bulbs provide an exotic radioactive purple light that comes stock on some higher end BMW's

For those that have newer cars with the CANBUS system, do you need to order the capacitors from VVME as well? I don't want to have a "bulb out" warning on each time I start the car.

Default VVME Kit

For the kit that I found and installed I needed the capacitor kit also. I also put the same type of kit except instead of 55w I put 35w units in the fog lights. This looks super awesome. The fogs have the capacitor cancelers also but they sometimes blink and give the warning of a light out. I found that if the car is warmed up first for a bit I do not get that warning for the fogs. So far I have not gotten it on the main head lights.
