Default A4 Vacuum hoses

Hey Guys,

I'm seeing an intermittent error code of P0411 that has been comming up on my car over the last couple of weeks, i cleared it once before and it styed off for about 2 weeks and today it came back on.

Anyway, after doing some searching and stuff I found that the most common cause of this code is bad hoses or bad DV.

SO! I was curious if anyone had any idea how much hose would be needed to replace all of the Vacuum hoses. I figure while I'm in there I might as well do them all right?

The audi dealer by me is selling the hose for $9.99/3 foot lenth so how many of these puppies will I need? I figured I'm also going to pick up a new DV while I'm at the dealership. (They have an "after market DV with a lifetime warrenty and no plastic parts" ) or so the guys tells me on the phone, he couldnt give me a brand though, but they are selling it for $169 ,"but for me, he'll cut me a deal and give it to me for 129.99" With the life time warrenty and no plastic parts I figure its probably going to save me in the long run anyway.

Umm, if you don't plan on modding your car, buy the 710N diverter valve from the TT, it is plastic, and 35 dollars, and if you only chip your car, (or leave it stock) the 710N will likely last the term of your ownership, and save you about 100 dollars.

The vacuum line seems really expensive at ~$3.00 a foot! Is it ecstuning.com that sells it for cheap? Somebody chime in here...

Eventually there will be decent performance mods happening, just not this summer

The dealer tells me that the 710n will start to hold less boost after about 10k miles, and slowly go down hill from there.... is this bogus?

$3 per FOOT!!!! WTF the dealer in my town just charged me $11.39 per FOOT!
I think I'm being screwed big time! Can you provide me with the dealer and
phone number so I can order it from them? Thanks because I'm not gonna spend
$170 for 15 foot of vac hose! That's a STEALERSHIP. Sorry for my language...

It's bogus as far as I'm concerned... on a stock or near stock application anyways. If you plan on doing more than just a chip, then yeah, no point in wasting money now, go straight to the 130 dollar one... otherwise, save your money, and buy the 710N. You could buy 3 of them for less than the other one -- and they are damned easy to change.

Don Rosen Imports
Service & Parts: 800-814-0681

Normally these guys are total jackasses, well the service people anyway. The guys I spoke to was really cool, not sure what his name was though, but chances are you'll get the same guy.

Sweet, I called that one! I was just too tired to look it up... so I'm sorta helpful... but really, mainly lazy.

So is 15 feet the confirmed length required to do the whole car? Or was that an educated guess? Don't forget about all the fancy clamps either!

Thanks for the link Dan. Oh, about the 15 feet length of hose is
just my educated guess. I'm sure there's more and therefore,
needs more than that.

By the way, the clamps on the vac hose are one time use because
once you take them off, it's hard to put them back on together unless
you got the crimp tool for it. There's a guy that sells clamps on Ebay
I just found awhile ago and here's the link.

I'm probably gonna get 10 of those unless there's a better alternative.
