A4 rolling chassis project?
Found a 96' A4 with a bad motor for a grand. Got the random idea of buying a used A8 motor off ebay and dropping it into the roller. OR, get a smallblock chevy and do something unique with it.

RE: A4 rolling chassis project?
ad says it had a blown headgasket... could be an easy fix for a daily driver. OR... If it's a quattro, get it, and swap it for the 6spd gearbox from an a6 with a built 1.8T in it...
ooooooooo..... could be a great project car.

RE: A4 rolling chassis project?
scratch this post...I made a negative comment about putting a small block in this car. IMHO... this would make a great driver, OR a great project car. it's just a good find for $1000, if the rest of the car around the bad motor is solid.

RE: A4 rolling chassis project?
mmm its a tempting buy. Im looking for a project, and have been looking at fox body mustangs. I'm in love with the A4's and especially S4's but there always too expensive. With that though, it would be a sweet budget build. Do you think the wiring would be a huge pain? And if I did go with the 4.2 V8 I wonder how the motor would match up to the tranny thats in it[&:]. What to do what to do.
