ORIGINAL: FinalVr4

I just bought it a few hours ago. It had to be these car due to the price. Uncle passed away so I was able to pick this car up for cheap. a realistic budget for me would be 10k-12k. Hell the supra stroker kit was 9.5k. How are these motors with oiling issues?

I was planning on a gt3582R turbo because I got like 4 of them lying around from my TT set-ups before. Anyone know the limits of the crank/block? I figured pistons and rods would have to be replaced. I'll have the heads machined, and have some larger valves installed. I got fuel pumps and -an lines and fittings for everytthing so that isn't much of a problem.

The caris actually a 99.5 A4 1.8T. got it for 750. So I'm up for anything in the performance category. Rims and tint etc. can come later.
sweet, you got exactly what you need. a gt3582r will definitely hit your goal. you dont need to change the pistons but you can to lower compression enabling you to run higher boost. rods will definitely need to be changed, and you dont have to upgrade the head unless you plan on revving it past 7.5k. after that you'll float a valve. i listed the rest of the parts you need in the other post (i forgot DV/BOV and WG). if you want recommendations on which parts exactly, just let me know

Aha! there's a BIG difference in the motors between 99 and 2000. You have the best of both worlds. 2000 exterior with 99 motor.

The your motor is an AEB engine code. The intake ports are MUCH larger than any other 1.8t. A gt3582r is a llittle big for a 1.8L or a 2.0L. For the displacement, the 30 series is what you should be looking at.

Honestly, in getting it for that price, and with your roster of cars now, leave it to the basics - chip, DV, intake/DP/exhaust, and some wheels, and call it a day. Keep one lightly-stressed car (this one) in the stable for those crappy days. You aren't gonna want to run the other cars if it's calling for torrential rain for a few days straight - not even the VR4. Put the money into those cars, or into a Roth IRA.
