many thanx people for all the input,i think the comment by bentframe makes most sense to me,audi have booked the car in for a diagnostic and i am told it will tell me asap were the problem is,hopefully it is only something as simple as plugging in the speed sensor or replacement.will post the end results.

bentframe - did you get the vibrations in the pedal and stuff right before your stop with the bad sensor or did it feel different then that? Thanks man.

yes, the pedal feels funky when the abs kicks in....kinda like it's vibrating.

thats how ABs works, vibrating sound and feel, just in case you didnt know, i've used it more then few times hehehe

yes, it's the normal abs feeling, it doesn't mean anything is bad with your abs system...just that the speed sensor isn't reading correctly. (the car thinks that one wheel is spinning more than the other and it engages the abs)
