A4 1.8T(150hp) Powerband
Hey All, I did a search for this but couldn't find anything here.
I'm wondering about where the powerband is on the 1.8T(150hp) Quattro? I'm running stock right now and to be honest I don't feel the turbo kick in at all. I haven't updated my DV yet either. I'm curious on when exactly(rpms) the turbo kicks in and when would the optimal shifting times be? The car runs smooth but sometimes it seems to lack that 150hp its supposed to have. She's under warranty for another 5k miles so I'd like to know if the turbo is dieing before that.
Heck, maybe I just need to learn how to drive!
Any insight on shifting or turbo/ride feel would be greatly appreciated.
btw: I'm running with 91Octane Mobil fuel so she "shouldn't" be in "limp mode" because of low Octane.

RE: A4 1.8T(150hp) Powerband
well if your not chipped then its setup so that you dont even notice its got a turbo suposed to be just smooth excelleration
get a boost gauge they look cool and really tell you whats goin on under the hood, a boost gauge is a must if you ever get chipped so youll be ahead of the game

Thanks for the info!
That's close to the top of my list Slim.
1. DV
2. Boost Gauge
3. Tensioner/Belt replace (if needed)
4. CHIP!!! (Neuspeed or GIAC, I'm indecisive)
5. TT
Does anyone know an optimal shifting pattern for stock setup?
(and don't be a smart *** i.e. "Well start in first, then go to second, then to third...")

Hope this helps. It's the dyno plot from when my car was stock.

Here it is with just an APR chip on 93 octane. Same car, same weather, same dyno:
