well mine was the throttle body shorted out during the connection. had to pay the dealer 550.00 for them to tell me that.

And how would one prevent that? Seems like your key would need to be in the 'on' position.

not sure how u can prevent this, the dealer told me this can happen whenever the battery is disconnected for any amount of time.
