I'm having some problems with my 99.5 Audi A4 Quattro 1.8T; basically I've tried searching, but I can't figure out what needs to happen to fix it.

The issue is a "flared" shift between second and third gears. Basically the car is essentially revving up or staying up in the rpms and then banging into gear. The car drives, just has this constant flared shift.

The strange part is there are no fault codes stored...what could this be?

 

Got it figured out...It was the TCU....replaced it again and now it works perfect.
I guess the 2nd one was defective; you know what they say- 3rd time is a charm!

 

TCU? traction control unit?
