4000 RPM @ 80 MPH... Is this right?

RE: 4000 RPM @ 80 MPH... Is this right?
My car is around 3500 rpm at 130 km/h... maybe 3500 - 3700, I'm not sure. I'll try and check next time I'm on the highway.
But, there is another post today with the same concern... and like I said there, nothing can be wrong with your car, to make it rev higher than usual... except for a slipping clutch -- and I think you'd recognize a toasted clutch.

i have a 2005 1.8T tiptonic and in drive at 80 my rpms are aroound 4 grand (in sport mode) so I put it in drive to knock down the rpms to like still 3600! This is weird!

Yea sounds about right, and everyone in here should be the same..thats not the kinda thing that suddenly changes or gos bad and I think all the b5 1.8t trans had the same ratio's so all 1.8t b5's with the stock trans are about 3800-4000rpm (cant remember exactly) at 80mph
