This is a link for all factory accelertion.

Acceleration calculator...not completley accurate.
So let me ask you a question, and by the way, I went through puberty 24 years ago, are you saying that a car x with the same engine and power will perform the same as car y with same with change related to weight?
There is a key fact that is missing from your summation: traction. A Quattro 1.8 will outperform a GTI with same engine ungrades simply because of physics. Auto manufacturers debate on what the maximum power an FWD drivetrain can support. Most feel 200hp is the max while others go as high as 220.
Second, torque is also a factor of acceleration that is more often over looked.
Your car factory is not as quick as a 2002 GTI but will out perform a FWD A4 model year but a well modified 1.8t Quattro (and they are very easy to modify) will run in the 14's with ease.
PS> your 3.0 will outrun my 1.8t...I am bone stock

RE: 3.0 vs. 1.8 T
haha, VW owns audi!? That is surely gonna suprise a lot of us on the audi forums... for sure! I always wondered why the passat and audi were so similar... DURRR.
And I dont know about guys with STOCK 1.8's claiming a victory over a 3.0... but chip a 1.8, add exhaust, and it'd do the job... and how much is a 3.0's premium over a 1.8 when new? I think about 8 times the price of a chip.
As for the GTI... it totally depends on what year... the GTI's at one point (up to 2001 I think) only had 150 hp... then in 2002 they got the jump to 180. My buddy has a 2002, and it dynoed 174 at the wheels, 100% stock -- so apparently its slightly under-rated!
But back to OUR point... a lightly modded 1.8T will spank a 3.0L. Stock for stock is retarded... who races, and doesnt mod? (that doesnt drive a ferrari)

RE: 3.0 vs. 1.8 T
A slightly modded 1.8T will not spank a stock 3.0, unless your definition of slightly modded means your adding more than seventy horsepower to you car, and increasing ur 0 - 60 by more than over a second while either reducing weight or keeping it the same while modding it. Don't forget that some aftermarket applications don't deliver as much performace as they say the should.
B6 Audi 1.8T stock - 150 hp

B6 Audi 3.0 stock - 220hp
