3.0 vs. 1.8 T
Lately I've been hearing alot of talk on audizine about guys with stock or close to it (exhaust and CAI) 1.8T's being able to take guys with 3.0's. I know that the 1.8T is an engine with alot more modding potential than the 3.0, but I know for a fact that the 3.0 is faster than the 1.8T. About two months ago, I was driving my 3.0 when I came up to a light next to a yellow GTI 1.8T. From what I saw, the car had an exhaust, and possibly more due to the obscenly large neuspeed sticker I would later see in my rearview mirror. The minute I pulled up next to him, I knew it was on, the light turned green, i pulled on him and passed by the time i was in second gear. I never looked back untill about 80 or so and saw he was about four car lengths back. Before I go anyfurther, I know some pimple faced kid is gonna be like, "but uhhh dude, the GTI is a VW and the A4 is a Audi so how can you compare them." The engine thats in the GTI is the same engine that's in the A4 1.8T, VW owns audi for all of those who didn't know, and VW uses the same engine in the audi to save costs. Back to my point though, the GTI is a lighter car than the a4 1.8T, so how can all these guys be claiming to beat 3.0's when my stock 3.0 smoked a GTI which is lighter than the A4?

RE: 3.0 vs. 1.8 T
traction on FWD doesn't have any negative effects at 150hp...
yes... a 3.0 is faster than a 1.8T
yes... stories of a 1.8T taking a 3.0 is bullsh*t... those races were due to driver skill.
.... topic closed? or do you have anymore...? kinda pointless thread IMO
