2006 AUDI A4 NON QUATRO
hi
i am getting a 2006 A4 NONQUATRO at 39000KM, it looks very nice and engine sounds pretty well. One thing took my attention was that it has 7 speeds, yes when i switched to manual part of cvt the monitor shows 1 to 7 to shift.
which is amazing but I ve never seen 7 speed before and havent read about it anywhere. Its a US car. and max speed is 270km.
What do u guys know about it?
Thanks in advance

Its not a 7 speed. Its a continuously varible transmision, which means the gear ratio is constantly changing during automatic mode. Its pretty obvious if you just floor it. The engine speed goes up to like 5500rpms and stays there yet the vehicle continues to accelerate. The engineers just chose 7 of the many available ratios to use in the manuel mode. They could have made it a 20 speed if they wanted.

So far those transmissions have had quite a few problems. And theyre expensive ones too. Its always either a tcm, valvebody, or transmission. Personally i would get the quattro just so i didnt have a cvt.
