IS 2004 A4 1.8T 2WD A MECHANICAL NIGHTMARE AFTER 50K???
Hey A4 bloggers, I hope one or more of you have experience in this area:
I have an 2004 A4 1.8 2wd 5speed manual that has 59K miles. I am running out of time to buy an extended warranty (they range from 1900 to 2600 depending on the level of coverage)... I want to know if I am better off buying the warranty, or paying the misc. Mechanics fees down the road. I can do the simple stuff myself like changing rotors (tho the back rotors are a MF to get off) ,etc as long as i can get my hands and tools into the tiny spaces . What i really want to know is if this model A4 is gong to give me a lot of trouble between 60K and 100K miles? anyone??? anyone????
Thanks yall,

the t-belt job should be done soon. and the warranty might pay for that and other things. I think its like an $800 job unless you do it yourself.

all depends on whether you took care of the car before. its like a ripple effect down the line if it wasnt taken care of.
but the extended warranty has been great for me, when something brakes i just take it to get fixed for free.
only thing you pay is a 50$ deductible.

What warranties are available for the A4?
I have a 03 1.8T with 74000 on it now and was thinking it might be worth getting the warranty. Does it cover up to 100k?
