2003 Audi Quattro A4, 1.8 Auto Tiptronic
Well I don't have an AUDI, at least not yet, but i put a deposit down on a 2003 Audi Quattro A4, 1.8 Auto Tiptronic, cold weather package. It has 42 k miles, and the car looks really clean. The sticker was 21,500.00 but the negotiated the price down to 17,500.00 which seems in line with the the market price. The biggest incentive for me to buy is the dealer is willing to give me almost 1000.00 more than Kelly Blue Book has listed the highest trade value on my trade in. I have looked at consumer reports and it appears there are issues with minor engine problems and electrical. I had a 95 Passat GLX VR6 so I have been down that road with electrical issues (ie power window motors went on more than one occasion), but other than that, really had no complaints about the car. I like the idea of the 4 cyl. with a turbo in that the gas mileage is supposed to be approx. 26 mpg, highway.
This seems like a good deal to me, but there is no warranty on the vehicle so I really don't want to have problems with it in the near future. Any advice.Anybody have issues with this car? anything in particular I should check out? I am going to take it to a local VW mechanic to look it over before I buy, but if anyone has any advice, I would appreciat it.
Thanks.

Even with an auto. trans.
and I love T makes a good point. The car seems to have the versatility so that if I baby it, the car has the capability of getting great mileage, but when you need the hp its there.
I think my biggest concern is the turbo. Hows the reliability? Anybody experienced bad luck?

Congrats on your purchase! I have the same car as you, and you're going to love the way it drives. FYI, the 03' A4 has a fuel pump recall, so when you get your car, take it to the nearest Audi dealer & have them do the recall work.
