2003 A4 Flywheel Lifespan?
Hey, I have an 03 A4 6 speed quattro and its coming up on 100,000 miles and recently my clutch has been slipping about 1000 rpms. I ordered the LUK clutch kit from ecstuning.com that comes with the pressure plate, clutch disk, pilot bearing, and throw out bearing and im scheduled to get the work done this wednesday the 15th. Im wondering if I should have the flywheel replaced while im at it. Its going to cost around 550$ from ecstuning. Is it necessary to replace the flywheel at this point or should I still have life on it? If it should still have life on it, would it be a good idea to get it resurfaced? if so where? Ive found 2 places recommended online - vast performance and southbend clutch. Ive been reading around on forums and have heard arguments for and against resurfacing a dual mass flywheel, so im kind of confused as to if i should resurface it or not or just buy a new one.
Basically, If I dont do anything to the flywheel at all during this clutch change, will i have to end up spending another 800 to 1000$ for the labor to replace the flywheel a couple of thousand miles down the road or should I be fine for a while? Ive heard conflicting arguments both ways.
Thank you
