Are you doing a timing belt? You don't even need that POS tool, as long as you have the cam lock bar the crank won't turn. Just mark the crank with some white out when you have the vibration dampner off so you know if the crank turned on you after replacing the belt.

too late for marking we need to use the tool. Plus, with the tool it is almost 100% fool proof. Thanks

Then look on the driver's hand side of the block, there is a speed sensor bolted to the block.
It's very hard to see and should have one small allan bolt holding it in, you have to get it from the bottom.
The only reason i told you not to use it is its a PITA to get it in and out.

Thanks for the help. Is there any way you can be more specific about the location? My power steering apparently has amassive leak so currently the underside is covered in PS fluid, making it even more difficult to locate. Is there an electrical connector attached to this speed sensor? Any sort of "landmark" so to speak? My mechanic and i are both stumped as to the location of this thing, and it is the only thing preventing me from getting my car back together(which i have been without for about 3 weeks, see thread "my mechanic screwed me"). Thanks again for the help

Oh, and yes, after this i will be fixing the power steering leak, it is simply the resevoir leaking, which is currently the least of my concerns.

There is a single wire coming out of it, the connector for it is next to the O2 sensor connectors on the bulkhead on the driver's side. It should be the small black connector, follow the wire down to the sensor.
