some kid that works for my mom let me drive his '06 passat 6 speed manual 2.0t.... i must say, i was kinda disappointed but its still a huge improvement from the 1.8..

1st gear was the only gear that was fun, after that is had no ***** what so ever...

i could see how in the new gti's the 2.0 would be a blast with the smaller car tho.

anyone else had experience with a 2.0?

 

chip it and then it would be insane....... have you ever driven a stock 1.8t??? they are slow as hell too, but a chip brings them to life..... a 2.0 will be the same way only with more power

 

I've driven B7 A4 2.0Ts and they are bloody fun to drive! Very revvy engine thatLL take a thrashing

 

The new passats are boats and are always geared lower for the family...not the sport like an A4.

 

I dont see what big jump you were expecting going from your 30v engine to a 200hp engine in a heavier car?? Like badluckaudi says, if it was chipped you may had crapped your pants.
