Is it safe to pay 6500 for a 10 year old A4 with 105,000 miles? Im thinking of making the crossover from honda/acura to an audi but on a tight budget. (Please dont reply just to talk crap cuz I'm a broke cracker who cant buy a new Audi)

 

u broke cracker lol j/k. that's a little high. around 5800 is good. see if u can get it lower. and make sure they have the timing belt done

 

6500 sounds about the norm for a car of this nature, and so what the B5 a4 is badass. just make sure the t belt was done and the front control arms. the engine will last well upto 300k miles (probably more but whos counting) a overall the cars themselves are well built.

 

This isn't the honda forums we won't talk **** and flame you unless you really deserve it. With 6500 you can find 98+ 1.8t close to 100k. Whatever you do don't buy a 96 or 97 2.8. There are good deals out there, you just have to be patient.

^+1...the engine will make it, but I have no faith that the Automatic trans will keep up w da engine...

if it's a 5 speed than go for it, but I would never buy an automatic trans (especially one w over 100k on da clock)

as far as broke goes, I would say most of us are in college (maybe51% or so) and we all make sacrafices for our cars constantly....you must be very meticulous when it comes to maintenance....change filters and fluids regularly and never skimp....

if you plan on doing any modifications to the car, know that there is in no way the amount of mods available for the 2.8l motor opposed to da 1.8

overall you should be extremely happy w da vehicle as long as the previous owner/s took good care of it...

make sure they provide documentation for all scheduled maintenance....
