1996 a4 Quattro Hood Release - HELP!
Hey guys,
The hood release on my 96' a4 Quattro is busted, and I can't find the cable. The lever inside the car is totally limp, so I can't go from there. I've got a custom Bimmer conversion on the front (see below), so it's difficult to get to the latch. I took one of the BMW grill pieces out and tried to get it that way, with very limited success. I can push the lever, but the hook doesn't seem to be moving far enough out of the way for me to open the hood. I'm also wondering if maybe there's any other hood release mechanism that is where the real problem may lie.
It's impossible for me to get anywhere near beneath the car because it is so ridiculously low (worth it though), and I don't have any kind of lift to get at the problem from underneath. To make matters worse, my battery is dead, and of course, I can't jump without getting under there. So... please Help!
Any advice or help is greatly appreciated. I really don't want to pay a mechanic. Thanks!

This is the only time I'm actually not in the least bit sorry something is wrong with a forum member's car. Its your personal taste but you freakin deserve this, WTF, I'm offended[:'(]...but since being an a$$hole is not in my nature I'll make a suggestion. Try manually releasing the latch by reaching up under the bumber. The cable is probably just disconnected so you'll have to take off the front end and find where is disconnected from. But before you do all that check under the hood release lever to see if the cable can be pull from there. Goodluck, no I take that back.

Yo, I respect your opinion but maybe you should b*tch to Eurotuner mag. instead. They gave it a long feature. At least I know that those who matter ($) can appreciate a nice ride, regardless of what euro influences it synthesizes.

P.S.
I can't get to the cable, any other knowledge/suggestions? Thanx

Bahah Yikes,
You know how much flaming your going to get wow...
On a serious note take off the bumper. Two bolts near the where the fog lights should go, then it pops off the sides by pushing down and pulling towards. Your headlights dont seem to fit either dono what is up with that though.

The headlights have a one piece color-matched cover; yeah, I know the fit isn't perfect but when you see em' in person they're actually pretty tight.

Bro, rice influence usually is in reference to asian car mods. Yeah, you noticed the RS4 front bumper, but there's a lot more than that. And oh yeah, the "B" in BMW stands for Bavarian. Okay, I'll spell it out for you. Bavaria is now the southernmost state in Germany. That's in Europe. Not Asia.
Anyways, I don't really wanna fued here, just lookin' for advice, but if my eyes don't decieve me, aren't you sporting an m3 spoiler too. But dude, your ride is totally the sh*t.
