Default 18's on stock sport suspension (not the typical question)

I should be getting some money soon and will be able to get rims. I can't do suspension first like everyone says because I need new tires and I'd rather get rim+tire combo so I don't waste money on tires that won't work on bigger rims. I've done plenty of reading and I don't think it looks bad. Everyone says that it will look like a 4x4 because of the bigger rim. Here is my question: I think the stock is 205x45(?)x16, If you get 225x40x18 the overall diameter would be the same. If thats not the right combo I would get the correct one. Wouldn't the ride height be the same since the overall diameter is the same?

I run 40 series tires on my 18's without a problem. But then again my car is dropped 2.0" all around. you will just have to try it out and see what it looks like. If it looks bad, just get it dropped asap.
