17" Flik Justice - Which A.S. Tires?
I want to score the 17" Flik Justice wheels from edge racing ... their deals seem VERY reasonable.
http://www.edgeracing.com/2002/Audi/A4_1.8t/wheel/417/
But I don't know what all-season tires would suite me.
2002 1.8t Avant ... soon to have a Revo chip and Milltek Exhaust (the quietist performace exhaust for the cash...from what I have read here and there)
Probably some H&R coilovers to slam the ride at will ...... but My ride is really just a daily driver and I want my tires to last a while.
BTW I want 18's but my friend said that 17's are more practical for daily driving ... like hitting potholes and shizzy like that ... 18's can get beat up and damaged where 17's will survive.... it sound sensible
What all seasons do you all like? I was hoping to get at least 40k outtuvum. Performance meets durability ...... I need to find that fine line!
..................................................
I just figured out that link is jacked ... sorry ..... i guess the wheel doesn't really matter at this point ...... unless Flik is crap?

17's cause of the Pothole Factor ...... My friend told me you can beat up an 18 on a pot hole or something like it where as a 17 will take it .... I guess I chose 17's to get a little more security in bad road conditions. Plus ..... aren't 17's lighter than 18's ..... the same friend told me that 17's are just the right size for performance on a budget ...... not too big.....not too little ..... of course my frind is only in 5th grade! JK! anycrap what up with this theory?

His theory is wrong. It all comes down to tire profile. Whether its 17s, 18s or 19s the smaller the tire profile the greater the chance of damaging the wheel when hitting something. 17s are ok but they just don't fill out the wheel well as 18s would. Alot of people on here run 18s with 235/40 or 235/35 or something close with no problems at all. And that 3-5lbs won't make a noticeable difference, go for 18s.

AYE AYE CAPTAIN! I will go for the 18's. I wanted 18's but my friend talked me into 17's. Sounds like I will be ok. So I should get the 235/40 or 235/35 .... sooo what brand tires should i get?

Damn d_maniac I still haven't seen your car yet, you still in the Bronx?...
Hey shaggys40oz go to tirerack.com and check out the comparison tests. I'd recommend the Avons, thats what I'm getting when I finally buy my damn wheels.

Just to back up the others that have commented...you will regret getting 17's the moment you put them on. Honestly, in my opinioin, 19's are amazing on a B6, but since that wasn't one of your choices, definately get the 18's over the 17's. You will be way happier, I promise.
Also, I would go with 235/40 or 235/35. Toyo Proxes 4 have awesome ratings and aren't too badly priced either. Just do a little bit of research and find what you are looking for. Like traction, treadwear, comfort, road noise etc.... Good luck man!
