the higher the number, the less actual visable light it will provide. The 4300k are the best in terms of illumination (which is why they chose them)

In order to get the full effect out of the brighter bulbs, your going to need to upgrade your stock ballast. I have 9000 K and i love them. Purple look to it, but the higher you go with the K's, the more purple its going to look. 9000 K are pretty bright. If you look on ebay, it has good pictures of what your looking at as far as brightness and stuff like that. But it doesnt take long at all to change your ballast, it about 30 minutes for both with bulbs. Just kinda of expensive.

so my stock 4300k ballast's cannot handle 9000k bulbs? or they just cant handle 12000k bulbs? i am well aware that the higher you go past 6000k or 4300k will produce less visible light. i just prefer the purpleish look as to my stock HID's.

01A4T if u go for the 9000K or more so the 12000K u will be squinting at nite and prob end up having an accident - once u insurance company finds out u have 9000/12000K u insurance will be void![sm=bustedsign.gif]

Yes thats rite anithing above 5000K in HIDs is against the law - something alot of those HID sites on the net dont tell u[sm=exactly.gif]

Audi have used the 4300K strait out of the factory for a reason...

my main question though is can my 4300k Ballast's handle 9000k bulbs as a direct switch out or do i have to upgrade my ballasts? i doubt that 9000k bulbs would become a legal issue....
