I agree. I did contact them and they told me to determine if the ballasts are bad. Not sure an easy way to do that since I dont have any other ballasts to hook up and determine that with. They blink in sequence so knowing which one or both is beyond me. Their telling me to hook them up in another car to determine this but I dont have another H7 bulb to hook them to as a donor. My Mazda is H1. Anyway, Im also wondering whether or not this is a common thing that happens when ballasts are bad or if its how an 07 A4 reacts to having aftermarkets HIDs hooked up?? I have the same exact kit in my car and didnt have any trouble, and I did not use the supply harness and have had them installed for several months with no trouble. The kit came from Visionbulbs.com. These are rated at 4300K. Trying to stay as close to the factory look as possible.

 

sounds like you've got a power supply issue. the stock lamps probably don't need the power that your HID's do, so even though you used the supplied harness its probably plugged into the harness for the original lights at some point. try getting a more direct power feed from somewhere if you can without having to run switches and everything else. i guess my question would be, obviously they've tested this with the stock harness and it worked, so maybe you have a contact issue where the new harness plugs into the existing wiring??? try cleaning it.

 

They have at one point in the harness a line branched off with a dual ended spade plug to plug into"one" of the factory headlight plugs as a 12v switch to turn them on and off with the ignition. This is on the passenger side plug. Other then that the entire kit is on its own harness and running directly off the battery, since the kit also has its own power line with fuse. I did check the connections a number of times. Shes only had the car brand new for 2 months so it was still spotless under the hood. Im just trying to avoid having to put the factory halogens back in and take it back to the dealer, the dealer isnt close.

 

did you actually plug the ignition switch line in?

 

I plugged the dual spade plug coming off the harness into the passenger side headlight plug of the car. That is what the instructions showed that were supplied and a few website showed the same thing. This way the lights will turn on and off with the key in the ignition turned to on since the lights will only switch on with the key switched to the ignition side. Thats what I meant by iginiton. Not to mention if the igintion line was not plugged in then the lights would be on all the time because the only power source would be from the battery side of the harness. Also, for it being a power issues, I thought the factory bulbs are 55W and the HID bulbs are rated at 35W, but only take 12v to charge the ballasts.

 

Ummmm....any updates on this issue? I also have a 07 A4 and got the same HID from Visionbulbs.com and my lights flicker but don't have the interior problems as described above. I had mine professionally installed with the relay harness.Suggestions anyone?
